"KEN"
|
Kenneth Henry Trietsch was born in Hamilton County, Indiana, near Arcadia, on a farm and is two years older than his brother, Hezzie. There were five boys
and four girls in the family so there was always plenty to do. The boys had their own ideas about music but Ken was the one who "put it over." Like his father, Ken became attached to the 5 string plectrum banjo and also studied the tuba. He was solo bass player with New York bands and traveled in vaudeville for eight years. He plays fifteen instruments, and sings baritone in the trio. When in high school Ken won many first prizes at the corn shows, and has always had a keen interest in farming. He owns a farm near Pontiac, Michigan, and recently built a filling station in Warsaw, Indiana. He likes fishing, hunting, and golfing, and all outdoor sports. He is acting manager of the Hoosier Hot Shots, and in-between time finds new tunes or writes new ones. He is the one who says "Are you ready, Hezzie?" He plans very deliberately for the future and we can picture him retiring at an early age with an arm full of fishing rods and a pocket full of money. He married Ruth Modlin of Daleville, Indiana, and has a daughter, Joan. Ken recently was bitten by the candid camera bug and may slip up behind us most any time and shoot us. |
